The Adversary

Give Us Help.png

There is no question that there are adversarial forces in place – against all good. The question is, especially as adversities unfold, who is “the” real adversary? Who or what is the prime source of the bad news these days? And how might that lead us to the Good News of our having been redeemed out of the kingdom of darkness and translated into Christ’s heavenly kingdom of light?

Let’s take a deeper look than the spin the news broadcasting outlets try to draw our attention to, whether they are mainstream or alternative. They all need to go to a higher level.

So does the Body of Christ for the most part – in its ideas, awareness, and understandings really need to grasp what makes things tick. To find that out can mean going down some pretty deep rabbit holes. Yet we need to become far better informed and bolder in sharing what we discover, as bizarre as it may seem to our sense of “normalcy” – because we have been too busy playing church rather than understanding our purpose and doing our spiritual warfare.

Here’s an example of what I mean by that: opening the Pandora’s Box of human trafficking, and organ trafficking – especially where children are concerned – can apparently have dire consequences. I know, it’s difficult for most of us to accept that there are people who do horrendous things to kids that most of us do not even want to think about. We push it away; we say, no it cannot be; no human would do that.

How utterly naive and sheltered we are in our little religious niches! Because there are some human beings, yes, who actually do that. What’s even more surprising is who some of those people are.

Unfortunately what went on in the ancient past has never quite died out (Satanic ritual abuse, human sacrifice, general blood letting that appeases demons – fallen angels – passing themselves off as “gods” ), and those who are devotees of these practices are looking for “tolerance” and “inclusivity” and “normalization”, in the culture at large and even in the churches! I think not! It’s time for America to understand this: we’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto. The quiet decency of Mayberry and the 1950s is no longer.

Scripture tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that the beginning of wisdom is to hate evil. Time to reckon with the reality that there is a time to love and a time to hate (Ecclesiastes 3:8) – not hating other human beings, but the psychopathic depravity some are ensnared in and capable of, and the fact that it needs to stop once and for all.

When humans are spiritually imprisoned in that space, they are seduced, enthralled, and overcome with the intoxication of evil (spiritual venom) and willingly take up some of the most heinous practices known anywhere. And they are rewarded for it with great wealth and especially power over others. They have given themselves over to evil.

There are things being done to counteract this on a law enforcement level, more than many people realize and at some higher echelons of government. It is being “quietly” addressed. This is hushed in mainstream media. Some of the alternative media has a handle on it; however, they are often censored and /or completely silenced, or made to look like fools for exposing it.

And there have been casualties of late. Everything from censorship to assassination attempts to murder, to keep the truth from coming forward. Need I say more?

The times are “apocalyptic”. What that word means is that we are experiencing “a time of revealing” on a massive, global scale. Might it be time to lay the ax to the root?

Scripture directs, as it always has, that we are not only to have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness, but to even expose them, since it is shameful to even speak of what the disobedient do in secret (Ephesians 5:10-12). This is being done to a degree. Timing could not be better, as it may be that this is the great and terrible day of the Lord, especially for those involved. What’s becoming clear is that exposure to the light of truth makes these workers of darkness scatter like roaches. They know their time is at hand. They either go into stealth mode, or like cornered animals lunge forward aggressively, baring fang and claw.

Yet the strategy against this present darkness is multi faceted and layered.

What this is pointing to is that mankind’s true adversary’s “directing activities” are metaphysical, beyond the physical comprehension, in other words. Human devotees of these dark entities become the channels, the representatives of grotesque agendas of darkness, for which they are rewarded and empowered (on a temporary and temporal basis) on earth, to accomplish the Adversary’s assault on mankind, and further their rebellion against the Lord and His people.

Consequently what we Christians need to realize is – per Ephesians 6 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…”

We do well to contemplate and commence with what this implies for us who name the name of Christ, and see to it that we will not have taken that name in vain! We must honor Him, and be of one mind with Him, no matter what happens, realizing the powerful spiritual nature of what we are called to be and to do, in His strength, in such a time as this. It needs to begin with some “truth in the inward parts” on our own behalf – a sincere, deep, Holy Spirit led self assessment followed up with some genuine repentance and turning away from evil and toward the Almighty!

We can begin by praying according to Psalm 60:11,12 – “O give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.”

So be it.

Who Are You, And Where Do You Live? – Celebrating Ascension

Scripture Passages for Consideration:

Mark 16:19. “So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.”

Psalm 110:1,2. “The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.’ The LORD will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, ‘Rule in the midst of Your enemies.’”

Ephesians 2:4-7. “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 1:22,23. “And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

Psalm 8:4-6. “What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.” (Wow!)

It is not the intention of this article to weave all of these into any sort of narrative, but hopefully, by presenting them and a few provocative questions, to stimulate a hunger leading to satisfying a curiosity about our reality. They are offered for your contemplation along with the following thoughts.

What might be the full and amazing purpose for which mankind has been created, which was lost, and to which our Heavenly Father intends to restore us in Christ Jesus? How is this to come about? Is it about this vision and its beginnings in the here and now, or about going to heaven when I die, or both?

Might this be the reason why, before Jesus Ascension into heaven (which is celebrated in the Church today), He reveals something rather startling in Mark 16:17,18? “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”  And then on to verse 20. “And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.” The entire book of Acts follows up with a narrative depicting who the church is, where she lives, and what she looks like.

What we’re supposed to see are attesting signs that follow, which indicate the authority of the Gospel message and the restoration of God’s reign over mankind and the earth, as it spreads over all the world. He created it and redeemed it through His Son – from sin, death, and the power of the evil one. His Church must see itself as involved in a grand celestial search, rescue, and salvage operation that is to be taking place whereby mankind experiences restoration as sons of God! This is why Jesus commands, according to Matthew 28:20, to those who go forth to preach the Gospel and to baptize, that they are also to teach “them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

This mission impossible, made possible by the One through Whom all things are possible, begs the question 2000 years later, Where is this understanding and its relationship to the meaning of “Ascension” (in Christian terms, not Luciferian)? Where is its manifestation, as Jesus Himself reveals it, and it came about through the Church that flourished right after that 1st Pentecost?

These passages paint not only a very powerful picture of a dynamic church but also a holy church, living in and being led as sons of God by the Holy Spirit of God, as she goes forth to baptize and make disciples of all nations. Her directive is to teach all that Christ commanded us. The unfolding of this restoration includes attesting signs that the authority of God Almighty is announcing His reign through His Church.

After all, has not “… The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil”? 1 John 3:8b.

The Apostle Paul makes it clear that these are not only redeemed, but are already essentially spiritually seated with Christ in heavenly places at the right hand of God the Father – not only bought, but brought with Him in His death, resurrection, and ascension!!! One could say we are bi-locating Christians, present physically on earth and spiritually seated in Christ at the Father’s right hand, in heavenly places. Ponder that for awhile!!!

This Church is set apart from the world and other religions to be the living, breathing answer to the question posed by David in Psalm 8, “What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him?”

How is it that the vibrant truth of our reality in Christ Jesus has been supplanted by watered down theological systems of thinking, by repetitive religious practices pitched as the way that we “connect” with grace, or the “visions” of mere mortal men caught up in the pride of intellect with their own ideas? These perspectives more likely than not keep us in a very earth bound mindset, and utterly other than what is clearly and fully revealed by Holy Scripture alone – the Scripture that reveals Jesus Christ as the Way, Truth, and Life, and the At-one-ment bestowed through His work on the cross?

Who is behind making sure, with these cunning devices, that the elect never perceive who they really are and where they live, move, and have their being? Who therefore, because of the lack of divine wisdom and understanding, will be robbed of a full and powerful Gospel? Not only the Church suffers, but the whole world (into which our Lord sends us) which lies under the power of the evil one. Why? Because the knowledge of Christ is not being disseminated as He laid it down, with signs evidencing His presence and authority following!

We need to ask ourself, what – according to the Word of God which He made sure has been clearly preserved and laid out before us – is the whole vision of Jesus Christ for His people and for the world which He has ransomed with His own precious blood? Am I at one with this? Who am I and where do I live – according to His word? What am I doing on earth for heaven’s sake? Am I off in la la land somewhere ruminating on my worldly “dreams”, drinking the Kool Aid of some religion that promotes the gods of the belly and self satisfaction? Am I participating in God’s vision for His Church and the world He created, redeemed and intends to restore through His Body on Earth? Or have I been conned into a lesser vision which may actually be more aligned with the agenda of the Adversary?

Who decided that the Vision of Christ and His Apostles for His Church – His bride, His holy body – ceased with the first century Church?

Is Jesus Christ “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)? If so, let us review who we are and where we live, and then repent of all lesser ideas than His, as we cry out to Him for wisdom and direction! Amen.

Fasting Through The Frenzy

AN INVITATION TO ALL WHO LOVE JESUS TO FAST & PRAY!

Fasting Through The Frenzy

Sunday 12/11/2016 – Thursday 1/19/2017

As 2016 draws to a close, we face not only the stresses of the “holly daze”, but also find ourselves in one of the most challenging times in the history of our world. With that in mind, we at Fellowship at the Crossroad invite our Christian brothers and sisters to join with us, wherever you are, to reverse the trend by drawing closer to the Lord, as He draws near to us – by Fasting Through The Frenzy. This will be a time of 40 days of focused fasting, prayer, and repentance – in accordance with 2 Chronicles 7:14, Isaiah 58:5-14, and Matthew 6:16-18. We ask that you read and pray over these scriptures as you embark upon this time.

We realize that not everyone can go into a “full fast” for 40 days. So we are asking you to carefully, prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit as to what degree it is reasonable for you to fast at this very pivotal time. For example, we are having 2 light meals per day eliminating all “meats and sweets”.

Some may choose to participate only for a day during this time period. Some may want to “fast” from the Internet or some other interest for specific periods of time. Fasting is not always about food and drink. Do what will work for you that will allow you to draw closer to the heart of our Savior. What’s important is that – by participating in this time of fasting, prayer, and repentance – it opens the opportunity for you to withdraw more fully from the world and its cares, and to come closer to our Heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus. It is a time set apart and prioritized where we can listen to His Still Small Voice, heed Him, seek His will for our lives, and intercede for our loved ones, the body of Christ, and for the souls of this fallen and lost world. And especially ask for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us!

You do not even need to “sign up” publicly, unless you wish to – as a sign of commitment to this undertaking. This can be done in the quiet of your own home. God is Love! So we hope that you will join us, right where you are, in seeking to know Him better than ever, as these challenging days unfold.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of our Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit bless you abundantly according to His loving will, during this time and always.

Phenomenation

Awaken.png

Hear ye, hear ye!

Oh, for goodness sake, America, wake up! Especially the religious component looking to Trump to be the savior of the USA, the Lone Ranger who comes riding in and single-handedly cleans up the nest of vipers!  Certainly that cleanup is something that needs to happen on an unbelievably large scale. However…

What amazes me about this phenomenon is that – in a nation that is supposed to be comprised of Constitutionally minded, thinking individuals – how so many simply are looking for a “king” or some  leader- figure to save the union, that nation which is to be of, by, and for the people. Didn’t we give up fawning over royalty right around 1776? Or did we?

Well, of course. That’s the easy way out. The king will make it all better. So, let’s go back to having a king, or even a queen this time around.

I cannot believe the foolish direction this has gone, especially with the arrival on the scene of “prophets” and “seers” (Seers and roebucks? Sorry, I could not resist. Oh deer!) claiming to have visions and prophecies about Donald Trump being God’s man of the hour.

Who knows that this isn’t some sort of mass mind control? I’m more inclined to believe that than to believe in the idea that The Donald is going to make America great again just because he says he will. Who would not like to believe that? I’d like to believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny too, but…

I also don’t think I need to go into the obvious facts of her history that make Ms Clinton an undesirable choice in this election. Clearly a moot point. However, will Mr. Trump be the go to guy that single-handedly does the hokey pokey and turns it all around?

This mindset simply reveals that the Trump phenomenon may be the buy in of masses of people who, although they have access to all the information the Internet contains, simply swallow what the press feeds them without question. It is no different than what happened with Obama eight years ago, where most simply were voting against two terms of George Bush, and a smooth talking Mr. Slick comes out of nowhere at the opportune moment – where he tells people exactly what they want to hear.

I have the feeling that we’re about to be duped again. Why?

It is because, from the Christian perspective, “righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34) Prayer, repentance, a return to morality, seeking the Lord with the whole heart, humility and surrender to the mind of Christ… This is what it is going to take! We reap what we sow. Integrity of the Judeo-Christian ethic was basically the glue that held us together and was essentially taken for granted up until a relatively short time ago. Perhaps that was the fatal mistake – that we assumed that our fearless leaders would always be a cast of characters like Andy, Barney, and Aunt Bea – who had our best interests at heart and could be trusted in every and any circumstance.

But one morning we woke up and realized that Mayberry was a deserted ghost town.

The kingdom of God (where God reigns in the heart as the only King worthy of our devotion and trust) is righteousness (1st in the lineup), peace, and joy! How much of that do we see these days? To bear this fruit of the Spirit, there must be an absolutely fool proof connection between the Vine and His branches.

This is what the “prophets” ought to be proclaiming – repentance! Not promoting a mortal man who happens to be rich beyond the imagination of most of us who is going to be the savior of the USA.

Who knows? He may be well intentioned. He also may be our best shot at this point where our backs are up against the wall. From that perspective, Mr. Trump could be God’s offer to us. I won’t marginalize that possibility. Yet neither will I endorse either candidate.

Might God also be telling us, “OK, people. Here it is. I’m giving you one last chance to make your course corrections by giving you a leader who can stand in the gap for awhile. You must understand, however, that it is not all up to him, but you are going to have to do the rest of the work, seeking first My kingdom and My righteousness, and by walking in that uprightness in the fellowship and power of the Holy Spirit! Otherwise your country is going to go the way of other nations and empires from time immemorial who did not heed My will or walk in My ways – nations which left behind the power and protection of My Grace and fell in with thieves and robbers. They left Me out of all their thinking and doing. They made many gods for themselves, including the god of self indulgence and self will. Is this going to be your choice?”

Before America is made great again, she is going to have to become godly again. It must begin in the house of God, among those who are called by His Name. And there’s a big difference between being the people of God and playing church, along with adding a little “prophetic” woo woo. We must – perhaps for the first time – understand what it means to be “one nation under God”, instead of a “phenomenation” swayed to and fro by forces we have yet to acknowledge, let alone comprehend or combat skillfully with spiritual weapons of warfare on those levels.

Victorious Prayer: Understanding Our Standing & Standing In Our Understanding

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:78, KJV. See for entire context verses 1-8)

The following is a sketch at best. Maybe more like a coloring book – it’s for you to fill in the “colors” and the details – contemplating questions and anwers.

Here Jesus speaks a parable concerning a judge who neither fears God nor respects man. A widow comes to him – persistently – to make her case for legal protection. Finally he grants her what she wants. One gets the impression that she comprehended where she stood. So she refused to give up her petitioning of him. The Master used this story to illustrate “that men ought always to pray, and not to faint”. This was “the” faith He would be looking for at His coming: persistent standing in our understanding of our Redemption in Him.

Somehow as I pondered this, I was reminded of Revelation 12:10-12. Our understanding is based on our standing in Christ, and what is already in place: salvation, the kingdom of God, and the authority of Christ. The accuser, the adversary, has been thrown down. The Luciferian occupation is over; he’s done – no legal right to us! Why? Because the blood of the Lamb paid the price of our freedom from him. Satan’s head is crushed. We are free! And whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Therefore, when we pray, we do so in light of this understanding. Prayer can be seen as the “word of our testimony” that this is so – proclaimed upon our petitions to our Heavenly Father. We come boldly to the throne of Grace, often and persistently, through and in Christ. Yes, boldly. Just as this widow came before the judge. Not beggarly! She knew the score. She knew where she stood, and she took her stand in her understanding and refused to budge. Do we know the score? Does our praying reflect it?

This is “the” faith which the Son of Man will look for at his coming.

Prayer ought always to take us to the foot of the cross. Who and what were crucified there in Him? Who and what were buried with Him? Who and what were raised up in Him and seated in Heavenly places? Out with the old self, in with the new creation! “… put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesian 4:24)

What follows is “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”? (James 5:16 KJV)

So do we pray as if we’re dead, or as if we’re resurrected, and even ascended spiritually? After all, God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ! (see Ephesians 2:6) Thus in prayer, we need to take our stand on our understanding, which reveals to us a spectacular vantage point, in Christ – “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church.” (Ephesians 1:21,22)

There is no reason to give up in prayer. No defeatist attitude here! Once the understanding is given, then we must take our stand in our understanding, and “… be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Thus prayer speaks to the primary activity of the Church, the Body of Christ on Earth – His house of prayer. Our Earth Mission, which has not changed, encompasses the eviction – through prayer – of that which no longer has any right to the human race!

In conclusion, Victorious Prayer means understanding our standing, and standing in our understanding! To our Lord be the glory.

Watch And Pray, Lest You Be Hacked

I’ve been losing track of friends lately whose accounts have been closed on Facebook. I don’t know whether some accounts were hacked, or shut down, or if persons simply bowed out. Others are complaining of being hacked on Facebook, and are threatening to shut down their own accounts. Social networking has become a rather unsocial space. Personally I experienced such a hacking attempt recently, but it was caught via email, interestingly enough. Let’s say, there are some links that you shouldn’t open. If you have an inner “red flag” about it, then you should heed it.

This is a 21st century form of forced “boundary crashing”. It could be called “cyber-trespassing”. Trespassing goes back a long way to the first wave of the Watchers’ incursion, of which Enoch writes – the Fall of angels that precipitated our Fall.

Maybe that’s why we pray “forgive us out trespasses”? Something to contemplate.

Hacking depicts to me a spiritual lesson:

Be sure, there is an “invasive presence” afoot on this earth which knows its time of occupation here is drawing to a close. The “eviction notice” was given on a bloody hill called Calvary over 2000 years ago. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ made it so, as He ransomed us with His blood from sin, death, and the power of the devil.

The unfoldment of this eviction notice characterizes the last two millennia of history. It is a reflection of that eviction notice to these forces, which must happen in each and every one of us, so that we may be restored to our Home and our inheritance as the sons of God in Light. This is a very real matter that is meant to flesh itself out in our life through the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s not pretend. It’s not “religion”. It is implied in a vibrant and ongoing relationship of complete surrender to the Work and teachings of Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit, in order to bring us through to the finish – among those who are called to it and who hear His Voice, the Voice of the Good Shepherd seeking out the lost and entangled in this world system.

Let us therefore humbly watch and pray, surrendering ourselves without compromise to God Who is our Father and Who is infinite Love, so that our very beings are not further “hacked” by our formidable adversary, “God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith…” (From 1 Peter 5) It’s clear his target for spiritual hacking are the ones who are “the resistance”, yet not by carnal warfare, but by the Way of Jesus Christ – mighty through God to the tearing down of strongholds.

This is the quintessential “hacker” of Souls who waits like a hungry lion!

As Jesus said to His sleeping disciples at that very darkest hour, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation…” Lest you be “hacked” spiritually by that which is always looking for chinks in the armor. Prayer without ceasing is the way through – unbroken fellowship with the Holy Spirit, not just talking but listening.
