The One Needful Prayer

Some people think it’s a cop out to pray a simple prayer like this. My thought is, if it was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me. Here are a few more considerations related to the idea:

Chipping Away at the Truth

Microchips? I prefer kale chips with humus. Let the chips fall where they may, I say.

I still think, all kidding aside, that this is why there is the big push for mandatory vaccination globally: unbeknownst to us, tiny nano chips will be implanted, or may already have been, to simply change human DNA. Little by little. The ingredients labels on this stuff are scary enough, but do you really think that everything that’s in something that’s being mandated is going to be shared on a label? Someone behind the scenes runs this show.

Even some so called “organic” crops, for example, are still “assisted” with Monsanto Roundup, making them as dangerous as the GMO crops. We’re still being led to believe that fluoridated water is good for us. The geo-engineers continue to play tic tac toe in the sky, day and night in the air we breathe. And we’re learning that every institution on the planet has been infiltrated by persons who, shall we say, to put it mildly, do not exactly have the best interests of humanity at heart. That would probably include your church, whether you know it or not.

This is the “bad news” in a nuttshell. It’s one thing to be informed about the bad news. There’s plenty of informing going around.

But I have a question for you to consider carefully, and prayerfully: What do you think the “good news” is that can turn this diabolical, draconian “techno-trend” around, and how is it to be implemented? Instead of being alarmed, we may need to be armed with the sword of truth in that regard.

That’s your assignment, Mr. or Mrs. Phelps, should you choose to accept it. And no, this message is not going to self destruct in 5 seconds.

Where to begin? See James 1:5-8.

The Fast I Have Chosen Part 1

How goes it with you this time of year, dear reader? Are you ready to make room for Jesus, for Emmanuel  – God With Us? In the scheme of things, are there “stable” conditions for this? Or is there “no room at the inn”?     Curious?    Read more:

Fasting Through The Frenzy

Fasting Through The Frenzy

Sunday 12/11/2016 – Thursday 1/19/2017

As 2016 draws to a close, we face not only the stresses of the “holly daze”, but also find ourselves in one of the most challenging times in the history of our world. With that in mind, we at Fellowship at the Crossroad invite our Christian brothers and sisters to join with us, wherever you are, to reverse the trend by drawing closer to the Lord, as He draws near to us – by Fasting Through The Frenzy. This will be a time of 40 days of focused fasting, prayer, and repentance – in accordance with 2 Chronicles 7:14, Isaiah 58:5-14, and Matthew 6:16-18. We ask that you read and pray over these scriptures as you embark upon this time.

We realize that not everyone can go into a “full fast” for 40 days. So we are asking you to carefully, prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit as to what degree it is reasonable for you to fast at this very pivotal time. For example, we are having 2 light meals per day eliminating all “meats and sweets”.

Some may choose to participate only for a day during this time period. Some may want to “fast” from the Internet or some other interest for specific periods of time. Fasting is not always about food and drink. Do what will work for you that will allow you to draw closer to the heart of our Savior. What’s important is that – by participating in this time of fasting, prayer, and repentance – it opens the opportunity for you to withdraw more fully from the world and its cares, and to come closer to our Heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus. It is a time set apart and prioritized where we can listen to His Still Small Voice, heed Him, seek His will for our lives, and intercede for our loved ones, the body of Christ, and for the souls of this fallen and lost world. And especially ask for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us!

You do not even need to “sign up” publicly, unless you wish to – as a sign of commitment to this undertaking. This can be done in the quiet of your own home. God is Love! So we hope that you will join us, right where you are, in seeking to know Him better than ever, as these challenging days unfold.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of our Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit bless you abundantly according to His loving will, during this time and always.

Dwelling in His Infinite Love

While contemplating the following passage earlier today, I came to the conclusion that “worldly security” is an oxymoron

Infinite Love.png

America Godly.png

Offered here are simply a few thoughts directly from Scripture which might give us pause for reflection, concerning the events on many minds today in particular, prior to the “great debates” here in the States. The question is, what is the state of the state? And how might it be addressed by those who love God?

Thoughts for consideration and contemplation:

1 Peter 4:17

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Matthew 5:13-15

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

James 4:9-10

Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Lamentations 3:40-41

Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.

Isaiah 55:6-7

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Proverbs 2:21,22

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Matthew 6:31-33

Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Good Newsflash / Psalm 18:1-3

Newsflash 1.png

Tune in to the radio, the television, the Internet, mainstream sources, or alternative news… it’s not possible to come away from exposure to any of that without a sense that there’s a lot of bad news concerning our corrupt, confusing, and crumbling world. It can, if we let it, cause a sense of hopelessness or helplessness. This is not what our Heavenly Father wants us to have as a focus!

Certainly we need to be aware of what’s going on in the world, but what in the world is going on for heaven’s sake? This is what we need to get hold of. Might we consider taking a higher perspective, a “God’s eye view” of any and all situations?

Dear reader, here is what I have found to be helpful, and offer as a suggestion to you.

A Psalm such as Psalm 18, when prayed in its entirety, or by the use of a few verses – personalized, proclaimed and professed – can work wonders, lifting our hearts and spirits away from all the grim happenings and gloomy specters that haunt the very air we breathe. Singing the Psalms – if you’re so inclined – can be even more helpful.

The world may indeed be a very dark place, but when we can begin to speak or sing God’s truth into it, somehow affirming His grace, good, and glory begins to change the view and the reality. There is power in singing and proclaiming His praises and His truth! For while we are acknowledging Him in this way, in essence we have “gone higher” – into His Presence, which is always now, always here. We needed to be aware of it. To pray and to sing His truth can bring in this awareness.

This can be done in the silence of our inner praying, or the words can be spoken aloud. It’s easy to directly pray many of the Psalms. They can be contemplated, meditated upon, taken to heart, and offered up to the Lord as our own prayers. This one is suitable because it is written in the first person and we can take it to heart and make ot our own that way.

I love You, O Lord, my strength! … You are my fortress and my deliverer! … You are my God, my strength in whom I trust … You are my buckler … You are the horn of my salvation … You are my high tower! … I will call upon You … You are worthy to be praised … Because all of this is true, so shall I be saved from my enemies!

This is perhaps why some Christians have the practice of praying through all the psalms in their entirety once each week! They are potent prayer and praise songs revealing God’s will and how He works, which we need to acknowledge and to contemplate – prayers which so clearly reaffirm how deeply God loves His people, and invites them to call upon Him at all times and in all places.

To pray the psalms is to call out for the wisdom, strength, and almighty power of the Lord to be brought into our “situations” both personal and public, when things seem hopeless – because we need a Good Newsflash in a bad news world. Not just once, but continually.

Let’s also hold onto the related promise of Jesus Himself: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Let His word always be the last word – in any situation, at all times, and in all places.

Hallelujah! Amen
