Alert Status

This is just a short one.

What’s beginning to erupt in the USA, and on a global basis, will make the 1960s look like a Sunday school picnic. Some of you are too young to remember that, but it was the initial rollout of this nation being compromised. Stay close to those you love. Make sure you’re checking on one another often. And get close to God through surrendering your heart and life to His Son Jesus Christ, THE only Way, Truth, and Life. Some of you may not like hearing that, but I’m going to say it anyway. Ask Him to to reveal Himself to you. And may His Holy Spirit grant this nation repentance and the protection of the holy angels. We are going to need wisdom that does not come from any humanistic source to get through the times ahead. Keep on asking, seeking, knocking.

This weekend is not about the Easter bunny, egg hunting, or any of the other earthbound trivia and hype ordinarily associated with this holiday. It’s about – if you choose to observe it as such, or if you don’t choose to do so – the startling reality of a new creation forged in the fires of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. But it doesn’t end there… It’s not even “all about me” or the stuff I think I can do for God out of my own self importance. It’s not even about being “churchy”. Instead, it’s about a deep truth which has gotten overlooked and lost for the most part: “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

The question is, how seriously do we take this? Ponder that for awhile, and see where it takes you… It’s not just “about me” or “for me”; it’s “in Him.”

And it doesn’t end here either. See Colossians 2:20-23 and Colossians 3:1-10 for where it goes from here.

Chipping Away at the Truth

Microchips? I prefer kale chips with humus. Let the chips fall where they may, I say.

I still think, all kidding aside, that this is why there is the big push for mandatory vaccination globally: unbeknownst to us, tiny nano chips will be implanted, or may already have been, to simply change human DNA. Little by little. The ingredients labels on this stuff are scary enough, but do you really think that everything that’s in something that’s being mandated is going to be shared on a label? Someone behind the scenes runs this show.

Even some so called “organic” crops, for example, are still “assisted” with Monsanto Roundup, making them as dangerous as the GMO crops. We’re still being led to believe that fluoridated water is good for us. The geo-engineers continue to play tic tac toe in the sky, day and night in the air we breathe. And we’re learning that every institution on the planet has been infiltrated by persons who, shall we say, to put it mildly, do not exactly have the best interests of humanity at heart. That would probably include your church, whether you know it or not.

This is the “bad news” in a nuttshell. It’s one thing to be informed about the bad news. There’s plenty of informing going around.

But I have a question for you to consider carefully, and prayerfully: What do you think the “good news” is that can turn this diabolical, draconian “techno-trend” around, and how is it to be implemented? Instead of being alarmed, we may need to be armed with the sword of truth in that regard.

That’s your assignment, Mr. or Mrs. Phelps, should you choose to accept it. And no, this message is not going to self destruct in 5 seconds.

Where to begin? See James 1:5-8.

Angel Unaware, But From Where?

Hebrews 13:2. “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.”

Matthew 25:35. “For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in.”

Leviticus 19:33,34. “When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.”

Psalm 146:9. “The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow; but He thwarts the way of the wicked.”

In light of the unsteady and frightening climate of today’s massive borderless refugee situation, this last passage from Psalms needs to be carefully and prayerfully pondered! Not everyone who comes to the front door, or creeps in over the back fence, is there by divine appointment! Let us not be gullible! For does not the thief come to rob, kill, and destroy?

The sympathy card, however, can easily be played upon any with a soft heart, a lack of discernment, and without knowledge of how things actually work – the naive in other words. You will be misled if you do not plug in your head! Spiritually we need to have a heart ultra sensitive to only the voice of the Holy Spirit, as to whom we let into our space – since the “powers that wannabe” are using this soft-headedness to smuggle in people who have in mind the overthrow of the West in general, and the USA specifically.

Deported, struggling, needy people are one thing. Those primed and programmed to do harm – being thrown into the mix to stir up strife and discord, to create hell wherever they go, who hate the West and Christians – are not actually refugees! They have been planted into the West with no good intentions! We have to understand the whole picture and not be deceived or confused into some idea that what’s politically correct is actually promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Nothing could be further from the truth! Many unwitting Christians have swallowed these political ideologies hook, line, and sinker – along with a lot of other non biblical, socially destructive constructs. If these go unchecked, they will dismantle our nation, the godly law of the land, and the high Western culture which has flourished since the Renaissance in Europe and then America. Why?

America is a nation under divine judgment. Make no mistake about it. 60 million abortions (murder of the innocents) since 1973, overall moral deterioration, and the “legalizing” of gay marriage have set this nation outside the protection of divine grace! This is now a nation that worships self, convenience, pleasure, and soft living. One could blame the Supreme Court and say, “We had nothing to say about these policies.” But let’s put it this way: the store would not exist if there were no customers. Planned Parenthood, for example, would have no takers if people respected themselves by insisting upon sexual integrity, and married couples procreated children when they were ready and able to support them!

The foregoing influx is a Trojan Horse brought in to bring down the USA. Yet the moral fabric of society and the strength of the traditional family had to be disintegrated first.

It amazes me how people look to Donald Trump to “make America great again”. Certainly it is time for a strong leader, but is this person someone to be relied upon at such a time as this? No one person should be looked to as if he were some sort of god to accomplish this.

Yet this is exactly what a lot of Christians are promoting, when they ought to be admonishing the entire body of Christ to repentance, prayer, and supplication (being about our Father’s business) especially their so-called “prophets” who claim to have “visions” and “words from the Lord” that Trump is God’s man! Time will tell. (Not that the opposing party has anything constructive to offer either!) It’s time to make America Godly again!

Matthew 7:15 – “Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

1 John 4:1 – “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

Here’s the Scriptural “formula” to begin to get the job done:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” [2 Chronicles 7:14 ]

It is necessary to be of one mind with God for Him to “thwart the way of the wicked”. This land prides itself on being a “Christian” country. We cannot rest on such laurels. What is America now – not 1620, or 1776, or even 1950? we must ask ourselves. Where’s the call to repentance, to prayer, to fasting, to Godly living? Instead many look for a savior who can simply perpetuate their lifestyle while their itching ears are scratched by their “prophets”.

Some of us are still questioning, was the USA ever actually “Christian”? That seems to be defined according to who’s answering the question, per personal opinion based upon access to information. How much of that narrative is the truth? Yet experience reveals – at least to those of us who’ve been eye witnesses to the sweeping changes of the last half century – that the spiritual and moral fabric of our once great nation began to be dismantled noticeably in the 1960s. We also have history from all over the world which shows that a pattern of decay always follows delusion and decadence.

It is time to stop playing church. It is time to once more be the house of prayer. It is time to cast out that which has made the church a den of thieves! We have to learn to take prayer, obedience to Christ, and spiritual warfare seriously, and to hear His voice – that still small voice of the Holy Spirit! And then heed His will. For God alone is able to turn this spiritual tsunami around. God alone can and will thwart the way of the wicked. This is the key.

Or has the light of the world gone out? Is the city no longer set on the hill? Has the salt lost its savor?

America Godly.png

Offered here are simply a few thoughts directly from Scripture which might give us pause for reflection, concerning the events on many minds today in particular, prior to the “great debates” here in the States. The question is, what is the state of the state? And how might it be addressed by those who love God?

Thoughts for consideration and contemplation:

1 Peter 4:17

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Matthew 5:13-15

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

James 4:9-10

Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Lamentations 3:40-41

Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.

Isaiah 55:6-7

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Proverbs 2:21,22

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Matthew 6:31-33

Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Praying in Christ’s Victory

Fear Not.png

When it comes to the very real dangers in our world today, it involves more than “keeping on the sunny side” with a positive attitude or a stiff upper lip. Christians have become the target of entrenched diabolical forces which know that their strangle hold over this world is being divinely pried from their clutches. This is very much like a confrontation with a cornered animal; it may get out its strongest most cunning survival tactics as a last effort. We need to realize first of all that the “animal” is supernaturally cornered, although it would have us perceive that it grows stronger with every snap of the jaw and swipe of the claw!

That’s the “bad news” in a nutshell. Eschatologically, however, this view gives us a higher perspective of events in progress, which is something greatly needed first of all, appearances to the contrary. So, what’s the “good news”?

What’s clear is that we need to know how to move through the bad news in a transcendent way, to learn to navigate through this tempest. Who am I? Where am I? How do I get though this? These answers are available for the continual asking, seeking, and knocking – within the context of the full counsel of Scripture.

Once understanding is given, we then need to learn to pray within it. Understanding comes from an enlightened consideration of scriptural truth, not vague begging, but knowing who and where we are in Christ, as well as why we are now here. Affirming and proclaiming what is becomes our testimony whereby the adversary is overcome. “What is” in Jesus is truth! Not what I will, but as Thou will, Lord.

The following (bold italicized) is an example which may be helpful. Emotions can trip us up when we feel down. So we pray by scriptural fact and faith! Feelings often change following the exercise of faithfully affirming our truth in Christ! It is good to pray like this thoughtfully and frequently.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You that You have given me all pardon and peace
through Jesus Christ.
You have granted to me all Your power and protection
over the evil one and the world;
You provide for all my need,
in the midst of all circumstances.

You grant me
full and unrestrained access
to Your infinite love and goodness at all times,
within You – omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient-
so that I may lead a godly life
full of Your joy unspeakable,
abundance, graciousness, and glory.

Please let ever increasing measures
of all blessings within this immeasurable greatness
be revealed, released, and restored to me.
Lord it is so, according to Your word,
that the triumph of Jesus Christ
over sin, death, and the devil
is Your desire
for all who believe in You.

Please let every blessing
with which You bless us in heavenly places
be manifest now,
according to Your promises,
and according to the working of Your great might,
Heavenly Father, which You worked
in Christ Jesus
when You raised Him from the dead
and seated Him at Your right hand, and us with Him!
(Ephesians 1:19,20; 2:6,7)

Come, Holy Spirit;
Please work within me and in my life
all that the Father has for me,
through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
in Whom I live, move, and have my being,
now and forever. Amen.

When we have access to divine power over all evil to this degree – for Christ has given us direct access to the Father – what shall we fear? If the Lord truly is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? (Psalm 27). Simple. In Christ

I fear nothing and no one!
And it is this I proclaim,
for the Blood of the Lamb has made it so.

The weapons of our warfare are not of mortal thought or design, nor are they of this world, but rather are mighty in God to the tearing down of adversarial strongholds, and casting down the vain imaginations of everything exalting itself against the Most High. (2 Corinthians 10:4,5)

Psalm 27 in itself is mighty prayer, especially when prayed aloud, contemplatively, and personally! This way we can acknowledge and invoke the protection and power of God.

Praying the Psalms aloud each night before going to sleep (5 at a time, allowing for one complete “Psalm cycle” per month, give or take a few) can be very efficacious. Many of these (but not all) were written and probably sung by King David, who was also a gifted musician.

Through these, David shows us how to pray and praise, never allowing defeat or depression to set in or overtake one’s mind. As a king, he reveals to us – through the powerful praying found in the Psalms – the divine dynamo behind the life he lived. His example reveals to us how we can reign, within the power of God, in the life He sent us here to live and to enjoy in His strength.

David may have had his setbacks, but he never settled for defeat. There is never anything short of victory, joy unspeakable, and full of glory written in this mighty collection of hymns and prayers. They are full of proclamations about how God’s love can be abundantly powerful in life!

Jesus also encourages us with His promise (John 16:33), saying, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

If ever we’ve needed the understanding of the truth about who we are and where we are “positioned” spiritually in Christ, that time is now. Praying the psalms and also reflecting on the life of King David can keep us mindful of what we need to understand and embrace: that we can be people of victory who “reign over giants” in life, even reducing them to nothing, by first being people who walk by truth and faith.

Have you ever felt so dreadfully alone, trying to fill up that empty inner space of your heart with things and people that definitely may not be the best choices, and may even be destructive? And the harder you try, the more messed up things tend to be.

That may be a good thing, believe it or not.

As I look back nearly forty years on the path Jesus has called me to walk with Him – especially to its beginnings – sometimes I think of that empty inner space as a gift that had its purpose: it was God’s way of letting me feel my own distance from Him.  It was like always looking across the table at an empty chair when having dinner by yourself. Who is supposed to be sitting in that chair? No other has really fit into it.

But then one day there was a knock on the door of my heart… The Caller had to come back often. He had to be persistent before I answered. And yet there was a point when I had to give up the fear of what the Caller might imply for my lonely, unhappy life. Eventually, when kicked around enough by all the things and people who did not belong in that empty chair, when I got weary enough of all of them, I answered that persistent knocking. I realized that the implication was that the only thing I was giving up was messing up. It was worth surrendering that  to Him!

Friend, has He come calling at the door of your heart?

When Jesus comes, that “Godspace”, that empty space, that vacant chair at the table, is filled up with Him, because it’s supposed to be. That’s why it’s there. It’s the place made for Christ Jesus alone. No one else – nothing else – belongs there. He entreats you, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

He probably doesn’t care if the table is set perfectly, or even if the dishes match. Or even if some of them were left in the sink from lunch. It doesn’t matter to Him if there’s a stain on the tablecloth, or if there’s a hole in it, or even if there is no tablecloth. He will smile when He sees the chair left just for Him.

He simply wants the pleasure of your company and for you to get to know Him.
