Where Are Your Priorities?

How can I be about my heavenly Father’s business if I do not know what His will is for me?

Feasting Among Foes

Practical Applications of God’s Proclamations and Promises

Ponder, Personalize, Pray!

Psalm 23:5. “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.”

Sometimes these days, when perusing many a Christian conversation thread, one wonders just how connected believers are with the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent Holy Spirit and the promises of God. Sometimes what comes across expresses more doubt, fear, and reactionary attitudes, rather than confident expressions of trust in our all sufficient King of kings and deepening desire for communing with Him.

God’s promises are perhaps better called proclamations of His beautiful, loving will for His children! It’s so important that we take Him at His word, especially these days when the adversarial forces are really out there and giving every impression that they are going to overtake the world.

While there may be rough sailing ahead circumstantially, what do you see in Psalm 23:5 about God’s provision for His sons and daughters in the midst of adversarial confrontations and situations?

How might this personally apply to your own situation?

What is the meaning of the “”oil”? What is the “overflowing cup”?

You may find it enriching to go to this link http://biblehub.com/psalms/23-5.htm for more references and use the commentary found there for help. It’s a good place to begin, as you pray and contemplate these passages.

Also remember Psalm 1:1,2 – “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.” Take this truth to heart as you ponder, personalize, and pray Psalm 1 in its entirety.

Write a prayer based on Psalm 23:5 and Psalm 1:1,2 expressing your faith in our LORD in the midst of challenges. Remember to also include your thanks and praise. Pray it often today.

Simple Response To Complexity

Simple Response.png

Each day in some way, most of us are confronted with something that troubles us, something or someone for which we seem to have no answers. When this happens, instead of wringing our hands in frustration or worry, we do well to turn to our Lord. There are many promises He gives concerning those matters too big for us to handle.

But what a Friend we have in Jesus, what an amazing “Friend in High Places” He is! Why is it that so often we think, “All we can do now is pray,” when the very first response to “the impossible” ought to be – without a thought – to take it to the Lord in prayer, trust, and leave it there?

Following are a few promises where He invites us to find our answers in Him. It is good to approach these prayerfully, studiously, and with openness to what they are saying to you. It is good to quietly read and ponder them in context, cross reference them, study them, and really take them to heart. There are many more, for “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge…” (2 Peter 1:3-5)

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)

“So I tell you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Luke 11:9,10)

“Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding.” (Proverbs 9:5,6)

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” (1 John 5:14,15)

“For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:3-6)

Oh, how vast and bountiful is our Heavenly Father’s willingness to share His mind and his answers with His children who will seek Him whole heartedly! May we always first hasten to Him whenever we are confronted with any complexity when there seem to be no answers… We may not have them, but He does!

Political “Reality” Show? Just Say No!

While I’m doing my crazy, abstract art (https://studioblaise.wordpress.com) a lot of thoughts arise out of the relaxed state such projects bring. While people might be puzzled as to the “meaning”, it’s always surprising what comes forward for the artist along with the art. It never seems to fail. The following is an example:

It would be so greatly helpful if we’d all start using electronic social media for sharing solution-oriented information instead of all the hand wringing, whining, “the sky is falling” problem fixation, victim glorification… blah blah blah… that goes around and around.

I’m not talking about “Pollyanna Positivity” – stick your head in the sand – everything is beautiful – pretend it isn’t happening posts, or just dwelling on what ticks you off in the way of “ain’t it awful”. I’m talking about innovative, creative life solutions that every INDIVIDUAL human being has the ability to come up with. Maybe THAT is why you and I are here in this world now… Have you thought about that?

Seriously – might it be possible to actually think about, ask for, pray for guidance about, and come up with solutions (other than politics, which is no solution at all but the way we’ve always done it)?… A place to begin might be one’s own life, not the national or international levels of matters. After all, the “history” that REALLY counts is yours and mine, not what “they” want it to be – because “they” want to focus us on what the “upper echelon” wants – which is always to be center stage, in the limelight, and adored by the rest of humankind. Consequently they syphon our energy, our resources, our tax dollars, etc. Hogwash! They are not God or gods! They deserve no adoration whatsoever. Respect – in some cases – yes, but not the adulation this sick sycophantic society has been indoctrinated to bestow upon them!

I think that to a degree we’ve been talked out of living our own life and our own God given creativity (no, not necessarily “art” & that sort of thing, but ideas that could be innovative and refreshing for living), and it could begin with something so simple as taking a little time each day for serious, focused reflection on our own interior landscape, our life, and where that needs to go – not where the powers that wannabe (“PTWB”) would like our attention placed.

There might be a lot of healing (even physical) in this approach – consciously building our own God given “energy containment field” and not letting the PTWB syphon it off.

Solutions, wisdom? “You have not because you ask not” . “Ask and you shall receive that your joy may be made full”! Governments have not proven that they are capable of, or deserving of, our adoration since time began. Eventually they always get the big head and start playing God.

For this reason I’m becoming more and more convinced that it’s time to “leave the auditorium” (as in stop focusing on it!) where this charade is played out over and over again. The focus must be higher than a corrupt system made up of some of the most corrupt people on earth. I’m a non violent person, and this is the most rudimentary non violent solution I can come up with: simply pull the focus back in where it belongs – personal, domestic, local. Screw the international scene and its ship of fools!

Remember, it’s been said, “Where the focus goes the energy flows”. We need to stop wasting it on politics – what Gerald Celente ( www.trendsresearch.com ) calls “show biz for ugly people”. Maybe we could all start entertaining instead the “angel unaware” – the new idea that holds answers, a stranger to the thinking of all too many of us.

That may sound odd, because we’ve just never allowed ourselves the luxury of being anything but a “human resource” for one system or another that doesn’t deserve that kind of power… whether we’re “going against” it or supporting it. It’s never too late to start a different way of thinking. It could bring a whole new experience.

Please – I hope you will consider and ponder these ideas.

Fear Not

Fear not, for I Am with you. Even if you are going through the consequences of your foolishness, I ever seek to draw you to Me.

Come to Me, you who are weary. I always stand ready to lift you up out of the burdens of darkness, back into the Light for which you were created in the first place. Come to Me; learn from Me, for I Am with you.

If you acknowledge that I Am everywhere present, then you know that I Am now here, and it cannot be otherwise – although your dimmed perceptions and the voices of chaos and darkness tell you that I am nowhere to be found.

But again I say, fear not, for I Am with you.

Look to Me; I Am here to set you free to be in Me. Have you not called Me Emmanuel – God with us? And so I Am. Come to Me. Know Me. Learn of Me. I do not condemn, for I Am unconditional Love Who has come looking for My beloved. I Am Love that sets free, heals, and restores you. That is all I want – to love you as you were meant to be loved!

Fear not, for I Am with you. Look for Me, and you will see Me. Turn around and look. I Am with you.
