Eyes Up!

Are things ramping up to their culmination? Yes, I perceive that this may indeed be the case.

Am I on a roll today? Yes. I can no longer hold back. I may have said more than I should. But perhaps not. For in observing – in terms of “news beneath the news” – what unfolds is startling in many cases. And I pray that many will become awake to it, aware, and call upon the the Lord for His salvation, wisdom, understanding, and direction. This, I’m convinced, will be the only thing that will bring us through the times that are upon us.

An acquaintance calls this Earth an “alien world”. I would have to agree up to a point. A good way of putting it. At least it is an “alien infested” world, with a lot of complicit humans who’ve been programmed to see things “their” way, humans who long ago sold out to them and still do. It’s in the Bible. In the beginning. It’s especially clear in the Books of Enoch. It’s a reason that a plan of redemption and salvation had to commence.

Call them alien, call them demonic, call them fallen angels… a rose by any other name? Not exactly a rose, but more of an incredibly thorny thicket in which humans find themselves spiritually entangled and sometimes enmeshed in mid 2016. It is a cosmic conundrum requiring divine intervention on the level of the Most High, to say the least, with fierce and  continual battle waged on behalf of the children of God by all the benevolent armies of heaven (which we call the good angels) commanded by the Lord of Hosts – confronting the adversaries who rage against Him and against His children.

Could it be that an eviction notice was delivered to the “alien occupation” thousands of years ago, on a hill far away, where stood an old rugged cross – driven like a dagger into the stony dirt of Golgotha, into the head of the serpent of old (their leader), and crushing it? And could it be that, in spite of appearances and ongoing conflict through all of history since, that the evacuation is now at last commencing in fulness – as in “Get out of here. This Earth is not yours, intruders. This Earth is the Lord’s. And this Earth He has given to the children of men to cherish and care for! It is the ‘meek’ who are to inherit the Earth.” This is the edict of the Most High, our Heavenly Father!

What to do?

This is a good time to put this directive into practice: “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:1-4)

Wow! What a sublime thought!

Jesus Himself encourages disciples then and now, “But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:28) “These things” – the tumult of apocalyptic times – are surely obvious to anyone with his eyes open and wondering, what on Earth is happening for Heaven’s sake? We are to “fix our gaze” on something much higher than politics and current events, while at the same time not ignoring what’s going on around us, and especially not sticking our heads in the sand and pretending it’s not happening! A tall order!

Have you been “raised up with Christ”, dear reader? It may be that He is calling to you to surrender your life to Him, in these troubled times. He’s more than the proverbial bridge over troubled water! He wants to take you up higher where He dwells, in Spirit and in Truth, even while in a body here on Earth! The view from that vantage point changes the perspective on everything considerably. It is then – in beholding Him (and you in Him), the view of faith – that “though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” (Isaiah 40:30,31)

How to tap in?

His promise of old: “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13) Wholeheartedly! No giving up. Persistence. And also, “So I tell you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.…” (Luke 11:9,10)

It may be easy, if we let our eyes fall away from the heavenly vision, to sink as Peter did into the water when he took his eyes off Jesus. The times are such that there is every “reason” to do this.

However, Jesus our Savior and Lord invites us to set our sights above on Him, and the things that are much higher in Him. This is how we can come through the greatest challenges. As the old song says, “put your hand in the hand of the Man Who stilled the waters” – so much more than a man, but the very Son of God was sent to set us free from all the bonds of darkness, and to keep us free.

All glory to His holy name now and forever!
